I am going to write about the upcoming Call of Duty game entitled Infinite Warfare, and what must be going through the heads of the people creating the game. Instead of the usual Harrison's guide, this will be an Activision's (the company that owns Call of Duty) guide to making the next game in the series.
Yes, this will be completely sarcastic and more me ranting and complaining about the new game.This will be a made up conversation between Activision and a fan of the series about the new game.
Fan, "Hey, have you put any thought into the new Call of Duty game?"
Activision, "Actually, I have and I made sure we as Activision stayed true to who we are."
Fan,"Sounds good, let's hear it. Oh and by the way, did listen to your fanbase by any chance?"
Activision,"We listened to all the feedback from our past games and came up something just for the fans."
Fan, "Awesome, it's about time. What are you calling the new game? Is it finally Ghosts 2 or is it a new game?"
Activision, "The 2016 release will be Infinite Warfare."
Fan, "What? Wait that sounds like a sequel to Advances Warfare. You know, the game that has gotten the worst feedback from the community nad the one we have liked the least. You are making a sequel to that game?"
Activision, "Well, I can't confirm it's a sequel, but it is."
Fan, "...but you said you heard us."
Activision, "We did, you said that you wanted no more advanced future, no more exo-suits, no more flying around the map. However, we are Activision, so we gave you even more advanced future, more exo-suits, and instead of flying around the map with exo-suits you will be able to fly around the map in zero gravity because the game takes place in space."
Fan, "That is exactly what we don't want."
Activision, "We know considering the reveal trailer is the second most disliked video in youtube history, but we can make it better. What if I told you we remade the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and 10 of its multiplayer maps?"
Fan, "That sounds great how much is that because I'll probably just get that and not Infinite Warfare."
Activision, "You realize you are talking to Activision right? The only way to get COD 4 remastered is by buying the deluxe version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."
Fan, "Oh come on. So you mean I have to pay $60 for something I don't want to be able to pay $20 for something I do want."
Activision, "Pretty much."
This is probably one of the funniest things that I have ever read. You perfectly capture the feeling of probably every CoD fan. But, you forgot one key dialogue piece. Activision telling the fan that people are still going to buy the game even though they hate it, because they're CoD. And no matter what millions of people are going to buy the game. Truthfully i'm going to get the game because I get every CoD game, because its not about what people say it's about how the game is played. If you want a really fun game set in space get No Man's Sky, it's amazing. Keep up the great writing and have a great school year.
