The New Preacher -Hattie Milligan

In March of 2016, the preacher at my church resigned. I won’t go in to details about anything, but he did resign. So, ever since March my church has been looking for a preacher to take the job. We had a committee of a few people that went out and looked for potential candidates. I think the first candidate came in the middle of May. He was really really good. He has a wife and a little girl. Everyone was actually leaning towards this guy, but he had to drop out to deal with some family things. After the first guy we had three more potential men come and preach to us. All of them were good guys and good preachers, but most of the church didn’t feel like they were the ones. Many people were upset that the first guy had to drop out. Some said that they were even heartbroken. Then, in late July the man called and asked if it would be okay if he reentered the race. Everyone was so happy. A few weeks later we actually voted him in as preacher of our church. Like I said, he has a wife and she is so cool. She quoted bible verses like it was nothing. I think our new preacher and his family will be good for all ages. I really think he will be good for the youth, which is very important. It is hard to be able to keep the attention of the youth in a sermon, but this guy did just that. My youth group and I knew exactly what he was talking about. I still remember some of the scriptures he used in his sermons. His daughter is super cute, too. I think she is only three years old. Anyways, my church was blessed with a very good leader. Even though it took a few months and there were bumps in the road, it all paid off in the end. We learned that in God’s timing everything will be made right. We just have to put our trust in him and let him do the work.
