The
2016 Summer Olympics are about to start and I legit could not be more excited!
I have always loved watching the Olympics. I try to watch as many sports and
events I possibly can. I even keep up with it on the internet. The Olympics are
kind of like an every four year Christmas to me.
My
absolute favorite event to watch is gymnastics. I know, I don’t really seem
like the type to love gymnastics, but I do. I think it is just amazing how
graceful they are. My favorite gymnast this year is Gabby Douglas. She was
actually the gold medalist at the 2012 Olympics. I’m hoping and praying that
she and the rest of the United States’ team do amazing.
My next
favorite is basketball. I keep up with both the men and women on this one. So
far in the exhibition games both U.S. teams have dominated. The U.S. men’s team
almost doubled China’s score. And the women’s team is so stacked. If a team
beats any of the two U.S. teams, then they really deserve the gold medal.
I also
love the diving. The divers are insane. They are always so on point and precise
with their dives. I always felt accomplished to dive off a diving board three
feet in the air, and these people are doing crazy dives off a board ten meters
above the water.
The
track events are always fun to watch too. My favorite runner for the U.S. team
is Kyle Clemons. He is actually from Jonesboro, Arkansas so he is really dear
to me. I also love Allyson Felix. She can run so fast and it doesn’t even look
like she is putting in any effort.
So, I am
super excited for the Olympics to start this week. I will probably record the
whole thing on my television. It is just so fun to watch the U.S. men and women
go out there and dominate. They should really make the Olympics be an every
year thing from now on. That would just make my whole life.
I prefer to watch the FRY COOK GAMES!!
