Why does it seem like everyone around you forgets how to drive the second you sit in the car?During the summer I was given the joy of earning my drivers license, much to the alarm of the tri-state area. Of course I believe that im a fantastic driver who can do no wrong, since I am capable of using a blinker and do not cut people off. But it was during a lone drive through Jonesboro where I found myself wondering why it is that nobody can drive, yet the general public all still manage maintain a license. So my research began, and I have determined that the average american believes that they, and only they, are capable of actually driving properly on the motorways and everyone else is public enemy number one. And the root all of this negativity comes from the same place, when we are first learning to drive the main thing you are taught is to assume that the drivers around you are going to make poor choices, and you must compensate for that by driving defensively. I am an amazing driver, considering that I have had my license for about a month and still have yet to be pulled over or flipped off more than three times by the occasional old lady or toddler.

Everyone is guilty of a one time or another shouting loudly at someone in the car right in front of you purely because they think the idea of going ten miles under the speed limit is a good idea in downtown traffic, it happens. My family is most certainly guilty of being a little too aggressive when things are not going the pace they would prefer. My sister still gets nervous in the car with me if she thinks the wind is going to blow to hard, or that I might drive too quickly over a speed bump, though she still won't take her own driving test and leaves me to chauffeur her around.
