My favorite Bible verses: Haven Robertson

Reading the bible is something that I should do so much more than I do. The bible is the answer to everything: every problem, every worry, everything. The bible also tells us the amazing work of God and who He is. The bible is a gift that I should not take for granted as much as I do. Saying this, I still have so many verses that give me hope and remind me that the Lord is always with me.
My first verse that I have always loved is Colossians 3:12. " Therefore, as God's chosen people , holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience." This verse reminds me to always strive to be like Christ and that I was chosen by the Lord, the creator of Heaven and Earth. He is so amazing. Because of this verse, I'm reminded that I will always be loved.
The next verse is 1 John 3: 18. It says," Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." This verse makes me realize that actions speak louder than words and that we were called to be the salt of the earth and the light in this dark and evil world we live in. God wants us to stand out.
My all time favorite bible verse is Colossians 3:23. It says, " Whatever you do,work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human matters." This verse has always been my favorite. I play a lot of sports and this verse reminds that all of the glory goes to God. God has given me the gift of athleticism and what I do with it is my gift back to God.
These are my top 3 bible verses that I will always keep in my mind. I encourage everyone to read the Bible as much as possible and to have quiet time with God everyday. It can change your day and your outlook on life.

  1. I loved this so much! You're such an inspiration, Haven! I also loved all of the verses you mentioned, but my favorite by far is 2 Timothy 3:16 that says: "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right." It reminds me that everything in the Bible is true and we can learn from it. I loved how you wrote about your faith, that's really impressive. Many people are too scared to show how they believe, and it's good to see that you're not. I really, really loved this! I'm looking forward to your next post! -Kim Wilson

  2. Hey Haven! These are some great verses from the bible. I love how you have verses that go along with something in your life. I also don't read the bible as much as I should. I need to make it a habit to do it. One of my favorite verses that will always stick with me is, Philippians 4:13. It states: "I can do all things through christ who strengthens me." This is my all time favorite verse. There are other verses that I like but this one will always stand out to me. I know that anything is possible through God.

  3. Colossians 3:23 has always been one of my absolute favorites too. Like you said, it reminds me to always do my best because I am not playing for myself; I am playing for God. One of my other favorite bible verses has to be Proverbs 16:9. It says,"We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps." It just reminds me that I may try to make my own plans, but the Lord's plan will always prevail. I just have to trust him. I am so blessed to have you as a best friend, Haven. Love you!-Hattie

  5. Great post Haven. I love the verses you picked and your call for everyone to find time for God. One of my favorites will always be Isaiah 64:1 But now, O Lord, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of they hand. It reminds me that I am always in God's hands and he is the one guiding my way. Though I may get dizzy and confused sometimes, or have to be tried in the fire, I know that it will all work out for my good. Harrison McCall #13
