Lifelong Friendships: Haven Robertson

I’ve grown up with an innumerable amount of amazing people who I like to call my child hood friends. Some of these people have trailed off throughout the years but others have stuck with me through it all.
One of my absolute best friends is Hattie Milligan. I’ve known Hattie for as long as I can remember. Hattie and I have played basketball together since we were old enough to play on an actual organized team. I know I can always count on Hattie, on and off the court. I am very blessed to have Hattie as one of my closest friends.
I have known Karlee Sanders since diapers.  I am so lucky to know her. She knows everything about me.  Karlee and I have always been pretty close. She loves the lord and is an amazing Christian. She is a great friend to have. She always knows the right thing to say. I know I can always count on her to tell me the truth, no matter the situation.
Mattie Lowery has always been there for me. I have known her since elementary school. Mattie is probably the most caring, funniest, and kind hearted person I know. I am so thankful for Mattie.
Last, but certainly not least is Samantha Lyles. Sam and I spent most of our childhood at Auntie Beth’s daycare and also grew up together. She is an amazing person. Sam is graduating early and I’m going to miss her dearly. I can come to Sam with anything and everything and I know I can trust her opinion.

These 4 girls will always be one of my greatest blessings. I will never forget all of the memories all of us have made throughout the years. From riding rides together at the fair to all of Mattie’s birthday parties in hotels. “There is something irreplaceable about childhood friends.”

  1. I will never forget all the good times we had at daycare! Forever missing Auntie Beth's monkey bread. Just because I'm leaving a year early doesn't mean anything. I'm always just a call or text away…..especially on days when you need to be saved from cafeteria food. It makes me very happy to know that you trust me enough to give you advice. You're such a kind, beautiful, and considerate young lady. I know you're going to do great thing and will have such a positive impact on this world. I hope your senior year is so fun that you won't even know I'm gone. Don't worry, no one is worthy of your spot as a friend.

  2. Haven, I have too grew up with some amazing people. It is great that you have grew up with so many people that you can have known since you have been little and that you can trust. These four people that you have mentioned are pretty amazing people.. Hold onto those memories that you mentioned and never forget them. I love the quote that you said about childhood friends being irreplaceable. Childhood friends are the ones that will always be there for you no matter what happens between the two of you. I hope you have a great summer Haven!

  3. Hey hey hay hay. I always think that when I talk to you. Anyways, I am so proud to have known you for 16 years and counting! I have so many fond memories of our friendship. A couple of them are spending time making up dance routines with you in your purple room in your old house, swinging on the swings with you on the first day of kindergarten, because I was too scared to talk to anyone else, and lastly, moving up with you to the team The Southern Sluggers just so I could play softball with my best friend, Haven. You are a big part of my life and I am so thankful for you. Thank you for all that you have done for me, and I only hope that our friendship continues to grow as we do. I will always be there for you, no matter what! -- Karlee Sanders

  4. Aww, this made me smile. I am so thankful to have you as a friend, and I would not do anything to ruin it. Having you as a teammate in basketball has made us even closer. The memories we have shared on the court will forever be in my mind. Like the time we beat Brookland in the sixth grade to make it to the district finals. We have seen each other at our worst and best. I love our friendship, and I wouldn't be the person I am without you. Thank you for always being there. Love you Haven!-Hattie

  5. Wow Haven, I am so glad you found four amazing young females that you get to call best friends. I say this because true friends are hard to find. The four ladies, Mattie, Hattie, Karlee, and Sam are all so nice and kind to me. Like you said Hattie is very reliable on and off the court. Mattie is very funny, like purple squash funny, Karlee Sanders is a wonderful friend to have. Also Sam is going to make me cry when I see her graduate early. I did not know these girls all my life like you, but they are very kind ladies. - whitney
