Story #1 Kim Wilson
Once the last bell of the year rang, Anna jumped out of her seat and ran to her car. She was more than ready to go home. She was not going to be the person Principal Edwin asked to help him clean out his desk. Anna worked for Principal Edwin all year because no one else would. She helped him organize his files and kept his office clean. He was getting older and retiring the following year so Anna felt obligated to help, but not today. It was Friday and all of the stress from her Algebra 2 class was gone. She no longer had to deal with piles of homework or loud, obnoxious younger students. It was the first weekend in months that she did not have to work and had no homework; it was also the first weekend of summer. The drive to her house took less time than usual. She hardly stopped at any red lights and there were less cars traveling down the highway, which meant less traffic. As she approached her front door, she received a text from her mom. Her mother texted her so it wasn't normal; her mother hated texting. The message read that her mother wouldn’t be home for a while. When Anna opened the door she noticed trash and broken glass everywhere. Anna immediately thought it was a burglar, she always feared the worse. The only weapons she had was an umbrella or her AP World History book. She grabbed the umbrella with one hand and the book with the other. Her plan was to hit him in the head with the large book and if that didn't work hit him with the umbrella and run. She hoped it was not an intruder because her plan sucked. Before her stood a large, black cow eating the pillows on the couch. How in the world did a cow get here? she thought.
