Weddings

Weddings seem fun and beautiful if you're just a guest, but it takes a lot of time, effort, and money to get I that way. Things are the polar opposite if you're the one planning it. My sister recently got married. I was amazed at what all really went into the special day. I learned that just putting up with the bride was a job all on its own! Planning was the most hectic thing I've ever seen in my life. You have to order flowers, invitation, save the date cards, decide on a venue, and so much more. Choosing the dress is obviously the best part. My sister's dress was an off-the-shoulder, long sleeve, full lace dress. It had a vintage feel to it and it fit her perfectly. She looked absolutely gorgeous! Being the sister/bridesmaid was just as crazy. I was forced to help with everything. I didn't mind because I know she'll do the same for me one day. So much time was put into planning and decorating, and it defiantly paid off. The prices of everything is shockingly expensive! Renting a tent for shade was $700 alone. The venue, Adams Estate, cost $500 and just raised her price to $2000. Don't even get me started on the dress. At this point, I'm starting to realize why people want to just go elope! Do I even want to get married at all?! The actual day is pretty fun. All the bridesmaids got together to get their hair and makeup done. There was no down time between our loud singing, funny stories, and jokes being told. In the end, it was all worth it to see my beautiful sister smile, and have the day she's always dreamed of to go the way she wanted. I'm so happy for my sister and hope her and my new brother have a long, happy marriage. They've been together so long that I can't even imagine either one of them being with anyone else.

  1. I can imagine how much time and effort was put into your sisters wedding. I saw pictures of her on her wedding and she looked beautiful. I also hope they have a long happy marriage. In one of Mrs. Haas's class I had to take I had to plan a wedding and get everything ready. There was so many thing on that list I had to complete just to get to the wedding day. There was the guest list, the dress, bridesmaid dresses, grooms tux, groomsmen tux, flowers, tables and venue. These are just a chip off the list of things to do. But, In the end when they come together they are worth it. -Chloe Reese
