2015 A Year In Review Harrison McCall #4

So the other day realized this year was already halfway over, and time seemed to be flying by. As I began to look down memory lane I got the idea to look back at the highlights throughout the last year. Well it all started out in January, especially January 1st when my granny came over and made peas and cornbread with some hog jowl, which we do every year. The year started off pretty slow as it went into February where it seems all I did was play around with my camera and get a new 44. mag hunting rifle. In early March it was still very much winter and the freezer was loaded with snow-cream, but by later in the month we were already launching the boat and catching crappie, spring had arrived. April started off with an Easter play at our church that i put literal blood and sweat into. I played as Jesus, which is really Ironic because this year we did a play for a special "kids church in the big church" service where I was the devil. A lot can happen in a year I guess. Also in April I killed my first big turkey on the youth hunt which still remains one of my favorite hunting stories. April really kicked the year off because the garden started in April, as well as frog gigging, turkey season, and that perfect spring weather. That feeling of spring time went on throughout May as we began to have cookouts on the grill, blooms started popping up throughout the garden, and the swimming pool got cleaned out and filled up with water. June was definitely one of my favorite parts of the year. There was the annual fish fry at PLC, as well as Arkansas Senior Camps 2015. We also saw our first harvests from the garden through this month. July hosted a growing garden, a family vacation, a whole lot of fishing, and my 15th birthday. August was a love/hate relationship. North American Youth Congress was one of the best weeks of my life, but August brought the end of summer and the start of the 10th grade. September was special for me because I preached for the very first time, as well as received a testimony that I will hold dear all my life. October I continued preaching and went through an unprofitable bow season, but that was alright because I also went to National FFA Convention in Louisville Kentucky with some pretty cool people. November was slightly better because their was finally meat in the freezer after a long deer season. December wrapped up the year with my third Holiday Youth Convention and a good Christmas fool of family fun. That was my life throughout 2015.

  2. I find myself having to agree with you about 2015. The year went by very quickly and a lot of things went by to fast (but some not fast enough). It was a good time reminiscing about last year. As I read your post I started thinking about everything that happened for me in 2015. I hope i will be able to look back on 2016 and see the same fondness as I did to my memories in 2015. Keep up the great writing and have a great year.
