My Story Part 1 Harrison McCall #5

This is a recent story in my life that I just want to share because there is a certain power in the testimony of the miracles of God. I guess it all started when I was born with a crimped aorta as well as a blocked artery. These worked together in not allowing as much blood to flow through my body as there should be, which resulted in all that blood being pushed back into my heart. This caused my heart to swell and expand, actually making it as big as my lungs. It caused holes in the tissue of my heart because of the pressure, as well as other problems. I was also born with a bicuspid valve, which my brother has as well. When I was born I was taken from my parents and rushed to the Arkansas' Children's Hospital in Little Rock by ambulance. The reason it was by ambulance is because there were only 2 helicopters at the ACH at the time and one was on a call and the other was broken down and needed repair. When I left that hospital the nurses told my parents that they will likely never see their baby boy alive again. However, they did not know that I had a mother and a father who had been through the fire before and knew exactly what to do (In between the time my brother was born and I was born my brother had had six surgeries for various sinus and hernia problems). They reached out to their pastor and the saints of the church who had an apostolic anointing in their prayer, and they began to pray, which I am so thankful for. Because when I got to the Hospital in Little Rock that baby boy who was bound to die was stabilized and holding on. At six days old I had open heart surgery for a repair of a coarctation of the aorta, but it was all OK because my mother had a spot in the chapel of that building where she would pray every time they brought my brother down there. In the days leading to the surgery, she would go to that same spot and she would pray and plead with God. Long story short I recovered from the surgery and eventually got to go home and meet the people who prayed over me in my time of need. It started that we would go back for a check-up every few weeks, but then it went to months, then twice a year, and finally turned into once a year. It was said that I would most likely to have more surgeries in the future, but something tells me I'm going to be alright. I know that this isn't recent but this is my backstory and needed to be laid out first. Now continue to part 2.

  1. I've heard you tell this story three or four times during the course of our friendship and every time it reminds me just how amazing God is. I was surprised to not hear about how you cant feel a pulse in you left (seeing as how you used it to freak me out the first time we talked about you surgery). I never new about the surgeries on your brother (although you might have told me and I just don't remember). I hope that the rest of your story is just as amazing and intriguing as this part. Keep up the great writing and have a great school year.
