I play basketball pretty much all year round. During the summer, I play with my traveling team, the Arkansas Hoopsters. Our coach is Spencer Hoffman. We have players from all over. For example, Missouri, Jonesboro, Lake City, Highland, and Paragould. I have played with Hoopsters since I was in the seventh grade. Most of the girls on my team have played even longer than I have. My teammates and I have become really close from playing together throughout the past summers.
In the months of June and July, our team played almost every weekend. Most people would think that I would get tired of traveling all the time and wasting money on hotels, gas, jerseys, and tournament fees, but we make memories and lifelong friendships that we will never forget. My favorite part about summer ball is getting to play in front of tons of college scouts and spending our free time with my teammates after games. Our team has been to many NCAA certified events over the past summers. These tournaments include Peach State Basketball tournament in Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee, The Meltdown Classic in Branson, Missouri, and Battle of the Boro in Murphesboro, Tennessee.
I have made so many great memories throughout the past four summers playing with the Hoopsters. I have met two of my best-friends through playing with the Hoopsters. Reagan Dodd and Whitney Waggner have become my best friends . Traveling to the tournaments and staying in hotels is a lot more fun than it seems. I remember the time that Brittney Sain rode to Nashville with me and we stayed in a hotel together. We spent most of our free time swimming and just running around in the hotel. It was so much fun.
As you can see, playing with Hoospsters in the summer is probably one of my best decisions I have ever made. I will never forget all of the memories and the bonds that I have made through summer basketball. I hope that I can continue playing basketball after high school but for now, I am happy that I get the chance to play all year long.
