Winter? or Summer? # 9 --Jo Baker-

If I could pick for it to either be only winter or only summer, I have no idea what I would choose. They're both so different. On one hand, you have all the great things about both of them.  And on the other you have all the bad things. Lets compare and see what we come up with.
First, lets talk about the positives about summertime. There are a lot of things you can do. For example, you can tan, swim, go running, have water balloon fights, walk, exercise, ride bikes, skate, go fishing, horse back riding, and go to the park. You can also do things like play basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer and softball. There are a number of things you can go out and do. Summer time is a great time.
Lets also talk about the positives of winter. You can do a lot during this season to. For example, you can go ice skating, have snowball fights, and make snow cream. You can also build snow-mans, go sledding, and make snow angels. And the obvious positive, hot chocolate when you get chilly. You can do a lot of things during winter that is just as fun as the things you can do in the summer time.
Next lets talk about the negatives that come with summertime. For one, during sometime it gets so hot sometimes that you don't even want to go outside. And the rain and weather that you sometimes get during the summer can be a real damper on things. The rain can make it to where you can't do a lot of the things you normally do. There's also the muggy weather. Sometimes it's so hot and humid outside it ruins your hair, makes you feel icky, and you constantly sweat and feel gross. The heat during the summertime is almost unbearable. Not to mention this is the season for allergy's.
Now lets talk about the negatives that come with winter. Sure you get a lot of fun with this cold season, but there are also many negatives. With the cold also comes power shortages. And if you don't have a heater or a generator when this happens you're in some serious trouble. You also get ice and sleet on the roads to where you can't go anywhere. This season is also the season for sickness. You have to deal with things like colds, and runny noses. And if you're really unlucky you can get frost bite, hypothermia, and the cold raises your blood pressure at times. During this season you can also get snowed in.
But there are ways to help with these problems in the summer time and winter. You can use air conditioners, heaters, fans, allergy medicine, cold and flew medicine, and you can buy generators. For most problems you run into there's a solution. So  how do you choose between the two? They both have almost equal positives and negatives.
I think if I had a choice between these two seasons, I would choose summer time. I do love winter time, it's a gorgeous time in the world. It's all white, clean looking, and pretty. Almost like a winter wonder land. And it comes with a lot of positives. But I love summer time just a little bit more. There's a lot more to do for me. You can see flowers and plants and go anywhere you want as long as the weather isn't terrible. If I had a choice between the two I would definitely choose summertime. What would you choose?

Jo, That was a great comparison of winter and summer. It showed how both winter and summer have many great activities to do and that they also have bad qualities to them. I love to do all of those things in summer and winter. I especially love the part about the humidity messing your hair up because I can definitely relate! So if I had to pick I would probably choose summer too even though I love fall, because of all the fun activities you reminded me there was to do. I love going fishing, water balloon fights, and swimming. Good job Jo!
