Most people typically want to ask me about my dad, but they don’t want to make it awkward or sad. Therefore, I am going to write a blog describing my beloved dad with what I can remember. Growing up, my dad was very big into sports; for example, he coached my sister’s basketball team and my soccer team. He was always there to support my brother in football, soccer, and baseball. He also never missed mine or Michelle’s softball games or gymnastics competitions. We grew up watching Arkansas and Dallas football. We also all gathered to watch the Olympics every chance we got. He also loved taking us on the lake to tube and wakeboard. Not only did he love watching us and other people play sports, he was also a killer golfer and tennis player. I highly believe that my siblings and I got a lot of our work ethic from my dad because he was always doing something whether it was with the family or for work. My dad was also the type of person who never turned down an adventure; we were always traveling and going new places. He was also the type of person who made sure his kids and wife were on time for church on Sunday mornings, sitting with the rest of the family. Personally, I would say that my dad was my biggest fan in everything I ever did. My mom tells me stories about how him and a couple other dads would cheer for me and my friends at our gymnastics competitions when we were about 5 years old. On the days that we weren’t on a ball field or at the lake, my siblings and parents would invite a bunch of friends over and grill out by a campfire while we played basketball in the driveway. Although I didn’t have that much time to get to know my dad, I am thankful for what I know and the time I was able to have.
