College Basketball?: Haven Robertson

College is only a few short years away. It really freaks me out. I will be a junior starting tomorrow! I wouldn't say that I am mentally or physically prepared for college right now but I will be eventually. I want to go to college though. I would really like to play basketball in college. Even if the University is small, it would not matter to me, as long as I got to play.
If I got to choose where I played basketball in the future, it would be Arkansas State University in Jonesboro Arkansas. I have went to many of the ASU basketball camps over the years. I have met most of the players, coaches, and staff. I love Arkansas State's women's basketball program. The girls on the team are all like a family and I love that about a team. They all communicate on defense like a good team does. Their coach, Brian Boyer, is excellent. Over the past couple of years, he has taught me so much to help me with my game. I would just really like to be a part of this team someday. But, I will not complain. If I get the opportunity to play at the next level in college, I am blessed.
Other colleges that I would be lucky to play at is either Williams Baptist College or University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Williams Baptist is a smaller college but to be honest, I think I would rather play at a smaller school to start out. I am so use to small schools since my school is small, so I think I would be a lot more comfortable. I have never been very interested in UCA because I have never been to any of their camps before or heard much about their team. But, I would be interested to go there as well.
As you can see, my dream is to play basketball at the next level at Arkansas State. I am excited for the future but I wish time would slow down a little bit.

  1. Haven, going to college is very scary and it freaks me out too. I find this so relatable to make a comment about. I feel like you would do great things in and out of college. I really hope you get a chance to play some where in college for basketball. I say this because i think you are very good. I think you will definitely get a scholarship to play basketball somewhere. You are very good, you have a strong work ethic, you push yourself to get better, and you are an all around great person. You can dribble, shoot from any where, post up if you need to, and play good defense. -whitney
