Pep Rally(14) Chloe Reese
Pep rally's, every school has them. Pep rally's are meant to excite the students and team. They usually occur during spirit week at school or before a big game. I think Pep rally's are a great idea. They help support the team and get them excited for them. They make fans and students want to go to the games and support the team. Pep rally's also help include the whole school in the activities. At pep rally's the cheerleaders pep the students up and make them cheer. This gives the basketball team confidence and support to win the game. They are also great to show and incourage school spirit. Our school has a pep rally for the first game of the season. I think these are great and with the help of the team, cheerleaders, students, and teachers. But, I don't think they get people as excited as they used to. I'm not sure if it's the students not caring about school spirit or what. But, I do love the pep rally's we had before. Today our pep rally's only last one class period, not long enough to get people excited. They used to take at least half of the day for a pep rally. Then each grade would pick a group of kids to make their grades float. Then we would all gather in the hallway and watch the "float parade". Then we go into the gym and eat food, something like hot dogs and chips. Then they would announce who has the best float. Then we would all get on the court and dance with the team. Then the cheerleaders would do their cheers and we would do them too. All the students and teachers actually participated and liked doing the activities. Now, I'm not sure if it's just because kids today don't have the same school pride and spirit. But, I definitely liked those pep rally's a little better, nothing against the ones we have now though.
