Pets(16) Chloe Reese

There are so many animals to choose from for a pet.  There are dogs, cats, fish, snakes, and then birds.  I love dogs, but they take a lot of time and patience to train.  Then while trying to train them they poop everywhere and get on everything.  But, they are great for some people, and I love dogs.

I have also had fish before.  We got the big aquarium, went to Petco and picked the fish out, then went home and set everything up.  We laid the colorful rocks down in the bottom of the tank.  Then we set up the plants and other objects in there.  I love having fish and was fascinated by watching them swim. 

But after having those pets, my family and I wanted different.  So, one day my mom suggested birds. I had never thought about having a pet that flew. So one weekend we decided to go to Petco and look at them.  We went back to where the birds were to look at them.  There weren’t many to pick from, but they were so pretty.  So we decided to get one.

We got a yellow and blue Parakeet.  This was our first bird and we didn’t know how to tell if it was a bird or girl.  So, my mom came up with the name He-she.  Then a few weeks went by and we loved having He-she, so we got another Parakeet.  These two birds would share a cage.  We picked out a blue bird and named him Blue. 

Then about a year later my mom found this deal for a huge cage, and two birds, so of course she bought them. They are a Conure and a Cockatiel.  One has a yellow mohawk named Pepper, and the other is green with red circles on her cheeks named Pistachio.  We have been working with them and teaching them to get on our finger.  The one bird Pepper, sometimes sounds like he is calling a dog, the last owner had dogs. 

Then about a couple of weeks ago, we found another Conure that was so beautiful.  She looks like the rainbow and her name is Skittles.  She is friendly and likes to cuddle with my sister.  As pets, comma, I think birds are my favorite.  They are pretty, not messy, and can whistle new things.
